•  Theories on the Effect of Cobalt Carboxylates:
• 1. Increases crosslink density of rubber.
• 2. Reacts with S (Sulfur); Forms strong CoS (Cobalt Sulfide) Bond.
• 3. Adds to crystallinity & structure of CuxS layer.
• 4. Added crystallinity, added strength.
• 5. Structure to CuxS for resin to bond.
• 6. Decreases electric conductivity of Zn.
• 7. Suppressing dezincification and growth of the ZnO layer when the CuxS layer stops.

Organic cobalt salt has been used in oxygen scavenger reaction for PET bottles to preserve oxygen sensitive food and beverages such as juice, wine, beer and flavored alcoholic beverages.
